Nutri Ninja Pro

Nutri Ninja Pro has been advertising on and off for about two years. It promises to provide smooth juice concoctions over “chunky sludge” offered by other blenders. It is said to be good for frozen blending, chopping, nutrient and vitamin extraction, and dressings. Unlike some cheap As Seen on TV blenders we’ve encountered over the year, Nutri Ninja Pro delivers the goods. With a powerful blade that easily handles ice and frozen fruit, the texture of drinks it creates is as smooth as they claim.

Nutri Ninja Pro comes with large and small cups to give the user options for storing or taking juices with them. There is also a small recipe book with about 30 recipes, while additional recipes can be found online. We found that the blades were more than capable of pulverizing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, along with ice.

Over 1000 readers on Amazon give the Nutri Ninja Pro a solid 4.5 star rating. The small number of complaints note that the unit is quite loud – which we found to be true – and that it can’t be used to create hot drinks, although one doesn’t typically think of a smoothie as a warm drink.

Auto IQ and 2-in-1

For about $100, the Nutri Ninja Pro discussed above is a great deal. There are, however, other models which offer additional features that may be of interest to many consumers. The newer “Nutri Ninja with Auto IQ” models include preset blending patterns to further refine the blending process. Auto IQ is a great addition to the Nutri Ninja product, as different types of juices require different blending patterns – which is now automated by these machines. The DUO units add a significant power boost with the crushing blender technology.

Nutri Ninja 2-in-1 can be used to create smoothies, or it can double as a food processor. The cup size (16 ounces) is a bit smaller than found on the other units and the motor is also the weakest of the bunch at 700 watts. Where it lacks in those areas, it makes up for in versatility and price, providing a second function as food processor, while only costing about $90. The clever design allows you to create smoothies in one configuration, or it can be flipped over and double as a food processor. There is also a dough blade. Those looking for the versatility of a smoothie maker and food processor may want to give the 2-in-1 models a look.

Which model?

There is some confusion by the fact that “Nutri Ninja” is a line of blenders, and not a single product. As you can see from their master FAQ page, there are at least 11 different Nutri Ninja models, divided among three three types discussed above.

Keep in mind that these are blenders, and not technically juicers, even though the word “Extraction” is often used in its marketing materials. A juicer separates juice from the pulp, while a blender does not.

Similar Products

The products most often compared to Nutri Ninja are probably the Nutribullet, Vitamix, and Magic Bullet. A full comparison of these products is beyond the scope of this review. Vitamix is a highly-rated brand, and can range from $300-$600. Nutribullet runs about $90, while Magic Bullet can be found in the $50 range. All of these brands have legions of loyal customers.
